Steerin wheel replacement
Have an '87 930 and looking to upgrade the steering wheel to something similar to the 3 spoke 996 wheel. Any suggestions? Fitment?

3 spoke 930S. About 325 from Pelican Parts and bolts in with the included hub adapter. It is thicker and 1" smaller than stock. It does however, like all smaller steering wheels tend to block the speedometer above 80mph and the oil temp gauge.

When you pull it off keep the nut on there loose or you will be eating your teeth after the steering wheel pops off and hits you in the mouth.
Don't ask me how I know.
After the gauges become hard to see with the new steering wheel, you can rotate them to see them better, but more importantly, it'll look like a real race car! <img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" />

Momo makes a steering wheel called the Prototipo that looks preety good. It is the steering wheel that was used in many old porsche race cars like the RSR, RS, 908, 911R etc. Performance parts sells it for about $375.(product#913163) A little high priced but it looks pretty cool. It all depends on what look your going for. I think Sparco also has some cool looking steering wheels. Decisions decisions?

The 930S wheel is a great choice. Really fits the character of the car. Probably the easiest(10 minutes) and most rewarding upgrade I've made on my car! You definitely need the spacer, it's not optional!

I've only seen the 930S wheel advertised in black. Perhaps a shop like Alan Gun (ALGA) could re-cover it, I know they redo stock wheels. I'd guess for around $300. That would make it a $650 wheel. Not bad for a car your going to keep forever This wheel in burgundy and a gold crest would be sharp!
