Default SOLD >>>>> 930 Fuchs & Tires

I have a nice set of Fuchs (7/9) and nearly new (500 miles) Sumitomo tires (205/245) off of my 1986 turbo. The Fuchs are in great shape (40k miles), except for a few nicks. If anyone is interested, please shoot me a PM and we can discuss. I'm thinking ~$2000 for the package ... Located in Melbourne, Florida

Regards, Dave

Default Pictures

I’ve attached some pictures of the wheels & tires. I purchased the car back in 2001 and it had 18 k miles and I’ve added another 22 k miles. The front rims are as perfect as a 25 year old wheel could possible be … No curbs or scratches, the only maintenance that I did over the years was to keep them clean and coat with Vaseline every month or so.

2nd to last picture is of the rear wheel that has a small “dig” on the edge of the rim. It looks as though it was done by a tire changer when the vehicle was with the previous owner. No curb rash on the wheel.

The last picture is of the other rear wheel and this one has some mild curb rash (previous owner) on about 1/3 of the rim. Look at pic from about 3:00 – 7:30 and you will see the rash.

I’ve taken very good care of these wheels and I’m selling because I just had some Forgeline Wheels built for the car.

Dave,

Nice set of wheels. I have other financial priorities right now, otherwise I would buy. You say you would put vaseline on them? Never heard of that. Is that best for protecting the magnesium?

Thanks,
AlfonsoR

The owners manual suggests treatment every three months.

Hi Dave,

Have you sold the Fuchs yet?
I am interested but am concerned about the nick in the one wheel as I want to refinish them. How deep is the nick?

Thanks, Jim

Jim,

Wheels & tires are still available ... the nick is not very deep and I'm sure one of the "good" wheel refinishers can make it perfect. I'd check with your wheel refinisher first though.

Can you give me the serial numbers of the Fuch wheels? I will check with the refinisher as to the gouge. How deep do you think it is? As per your message, it looks as if only the rear 9's need refinishing.

Thanks, Jim

Jim,

I'll get the numbers off the rims tomorrow.

I looked at the gouge and it is not deep at all ... The only way I can describe the damage is by using a bar of butter as an example. Imagine a bar of butter at room temperature and you take a butter knife and move/scrape a very small amount off the surface and it leaves a small amount in a pile ... Thanks what it looks like. I'm not sure what you're looking for in rims, but these rims look great, unless you are looking for concours condition, then a refinish make sense.

Regards, Dave

Dave,

I'm in the Seattle, Washington area and am wondering if you can give me a quote to ship or give me the weight on one tire so I can check out the freight tab as that will make a difference as to my purchasing these tires and rims. Send me your phone number to jamesgmilner@hotmail.com and we can talk.

Thanks again, Jim
