Default I might pull the trigger....

on a silver 1986 930. The car is a one owner and accident free with mileage at 60,000. I have eye balled the car and the exterior and interior condition is good. The owner has all the books and the complete maintenance history since new. A new clutch was installed about 2,000 miles ago. I feel I can buy it for around $27k subject to a PPI of course. What do you guys think?

If it is as good as you make it sound and does well in a PPI, $27K is a steel. Get it now!

I am pretty pumped up about it. Not my first 911. But never a turbo. I love the old school look of the 930. The more I think about it, assuming the ppi is ok, I will buy it. I really don't plan on modding it. I will keep it stock except for maybe the exhaust.

well, if you've never owned a turbo before then your in for a life changing experience. my first porsche was a 79 930... it ruined me from ever getting a non-turbo P car. in fact i'm just about in the market for another 930 and there is a white one about 60 miles up the road that is just driving me crazy!!!

Update. The seller agreed on $27k. Next comes the ppi. I am getting excited. If the inspection goes ok I should be in the saddle by the weekend. I might have to reconsider the mods issue. /

Yeah...I was a "going to leave it stock by God..."....and then....and then....I started reading these threads and Voila....a slightly modified "almost original" turbo. If you get a good PPI at $27K, you can figure about another $2-5K in "New owner fix-its" that the PO just didn't get around to doing. Us newbies always want everything perfect right after we buy them....so invariably you may say you're not going to touch it....but then......well maybe.....
