Lincoln, if there were a pair of those wheels in my garage right now i wouldn't have even started this topic, they would be on the car and that would be that. When you are presented with a choice you have to weigh up the pro's and con's of each.
The down sides to the Ruf wheels are tyre choice and weight but the upside is strength and they do look great.
The down side to the Fuchs copies are possibly strength? But the upside is keeping a stock ish look, good tyre selection (and there should be for years to come), and weight.
After reading his thread over on pelican it seams the tests done on the wheels far exceeds the normal stress limits required, so it seams they are pretty strong, as you say though i wouldn't want to hit any potholes, just in case!

My thoughts on both points Linc. I had Ruf wheels on a narrow bodied "street fighter", with the roads hear in the mid-atlantic region as they are.. the extra wieght was welcomed for pot-hole duty!

Regarding unsprung weight, if you're not down in the weeds looking for every ounce, or every edge, such as in a race application then you'll never know the difference! In street applications the average "Joe" will never be able to tell the difference... You can tell the difference in handling characteristics when bumping up from the standard 16" wheel.. to 17" or 18" but it's not unsprung weight you're noticing.

From an asthetics standpoint - I prefer the RUF 5 spokes...but that's just me. I just wanted to throw out that there were options to the Lindseys as I know they use the original centers and it yields a slightly "off" look.

I vote RUF's...should we post pics of both to help you decide?

Do we need an excuse to post pics of nice 930's?

PS: Jon, whichever way you go, will be awesome. Personally I prefer original Fuchs but Rufs are proven at the high speeds you want to do!

Guys, if you've got some pics that you think might help please post away.
The thing that is now steering me towards the Fuchs copies is keeping a stock look, plus i still can't put my hands on a pair of CTR style speedlines at the moment. I'm really warming to the idea of 18" Fuchs, nobody has pics of those though as they don't yet exist, do they?

gabe is right tire sizing on a 17" wheel is difficult at best, as far as a 315/35r`7 is concerned theres only a couple of choices hoosier r6s or kuhmo victoracers, both dot approved track tires, i think there might be one mre tire but 18 gives you alot more options in the 315 plus category

The 18 inchers from Jeff should look just like the 17" wheel as that was the idea. Rather than fitting a small centre in big outers the centres are custom made. If I had money to burn I would have a set made for my black 3.2 carrera!

Please post some pics if you have them, has anyone got pics of large Fuchs with black centers, i don't think i've seen 17" lindsey's in the stock looking format. I guess most people ordering specialist wheels go for something that stands out. If i went for the 17" or 18" Fuchs copies they would be painted like my stock ones, anyone with large "stock look" wheels??

Here's a photo of my 17" RUF speedlines with big reds. These are I believe the generation II version, not what you're referring to?
