Ceramic coating opinions???????
I bought a used set of B&B headers with no heat, they are quite discolored and I am thinking of having them ceramic coated on outside only, has anyone else done this, does it stay looking nice, is it worth the money or should I just polish them up again? Thanx, Jamie

I've seen someone's exhaust either here or on Pelican that had been coated.
I've used the ceramic coatings on several BMW headers, and on 911 heat exchangers, mufflers, and at least one cat..
Personally, I prefer Jet-Hot coatings. It's a little more expense than some others out there but it lasts, they have several finishes, and they stand behind the product.

Did you do matte or Sterling finish? BTW.. I luv that/your 512! I'll trade you a really nice 308... :-)
Are you going to be in Charlotte for the Porsche Parade? I'm trying to make it to that, just not sure if I'll have the 930 done by then. I'm ashamed, it should've been done months ago.. this work thing & sleep just seem to get in the way!

sterling finish...inside and out! looks great from behind. the headers look like a real bundle of snakes w/ those 12 holes!
when is the parade? i am attending the ferrari challenge cup at the biltmore house this saturday. you should consider attending. i will be driving the boxer up there. we could meet if you find a way to get the 308 up there as well.

Peter,
Man, I bet the snakes do look great from behind!
Unfortunately my next two weekends are shot for car stuff... got stuck this weekend helping a buddy move/leave his wife! Jeeez, I gotta help the guy cause she deserves it!
Have to travel next week-end for an aunt's 100th birthday celebration.. !
Challenge Cup should be big fun!
The parade is in 27-June through July 3rd, Concours is on Sunday, 29-June, in the Downtown Charlotte area. Think I'm going to make it down on Friday eve, and head back north on Sunday night or Monday morn.

just a note...when i had my ferrari headers, one of the motor guys at hendrick motorsports ( the nascar team of jeff gordon, jimmy j. and little e) had them done inside and out. i figured anyone that can get close to 900 hp on a push rod motor must know!
tell me your rational...you may be correct.

If the headers are coated on the inside, there is a possibility that a ceramic flake may dislodge and impact the turbine impeller at speed severely damaging the turbo. This is a non-issue on a n/a car as the flake would just blow out the exhaust.

Someone over on Pelican says it can be done if everything is prepared correctly. Still not sure I'd take the risk though personally.
