Man! You are one locky guy! Look at the depression of the driver's door and roof, and you can tell how far the pole came into your car. As far as the cop and his disfunctional behavior, my wife had a similar experience. She T boned a van with two 70 something man and woman on the womans passenger door and pushed it in 26 inches. The woman was trapped by the sheet metal and the husband, driver, was laying out on the street covered with glass. The cop arrived, female, ignored the two older people and proceeded to write my wife a ticket because she had not applied the little date sticker to her tag! My wife was in shock and did not know what was going on. The accident was the couple's fault but the cop was from hell.

Amazing story Dave, thanks for sharing the pics and details. I'd have in no way thought you'd live through that let alone walk away. Tho everytime I open my door I am very amazed at the size of them thar sills!
Stupid pigs, that's really sad he was like that. Likely cause it was a "$$$ Porsche", and that you "had to be" speeding. Ridiculous.
Rudy, in one shot Dave gave he's standing *in* the pole's impression. That shot really put it into perspective for me.
Back when I was younger and dumber (still young and dumb), I had the misfortune of putting a Volvo 242 into the woods sideways @ 80. I too walked away without a scratch, which was amazing considering the LF wheel was where the RF headlight belonged. Roof looked even worse than yours somehow. Pics are somewhere in my website if you're bored. And Mike's totally right - 17 years later and today I feel every friggin' MPH of that incident - ugh.
Goes to show you your number (and mine) wasn't up yet, great to have someone looking out for us. Carpe Diem.
BTW, your car did look fantastic - d'oh. Interesting to here how much you realize you miss it Dave even now with the 993tt, speaks volumes.

It's amazing you walked away from that. Someone was watching out for you.
It serves as a sobering reminder that cold temperatures and summer type tyres do not go well together.
Maybe I just won't push it too hard next time I go out. Lesson learned.
Glad you are OK

Glad you're OK. Sorry to see and hear what happened...
You must have a gaurdian angel staying close to you because it looks like you would have to have a helmet on to survive that.
That is heartbreaking I'm sure.
take care.
