Default 930 turbo spacers

What are these 'spacers' on the rear? wheels. Is it safe to remove them I presume the wheel hub will mount deeper without them. Im assuming 964s didnt have them because the rear offset is less on these cars.

You can remove them, but you need to be aware of the wheel offset. Removing the spacer will cause your wheel to move in by about an inch. Also, depending on your calipers, you may need spacers or a different offset.

Mind the length of the wheel studs too! If you are running cap-type lug nuts they will bottom out...

Looking at this from another view, I'd like to add spacers. I have original fuchs on my '86, what are the potential pitfalls of adding spacers and where can I buy them?
Thanks Rich

So would removing the rear spacers give me a visual offset similar or the same as the 964 rs 3.8? That was turbo bodied but used, presumably non turbo trailing arms (ie not the 964 turbo arms). If i approach cargraphic to make up some 11 inch rears for a 930 turbo would they ask me if i had removed the spacers? its kind of confusing.

I have no spacers on my 930, the wheels were custom made.

If they don't ask, you need to tell them. Doing this will make a wider outside wheel half. A good look I think.
