Ha! I was thinking the same thing! A car doesnt need to be registered to take it to the track! Now does it! Mileage will be the end all be all for this car! But, you can do a gauge swap and no one would be the wiser!

Some of you may remember my thread about a year ago with a car similar to this i was looking into buying. It was a black '85 gray market car. The car was also never titled. The owner of the car had dealer plates which he threw on the car when we he took it out and did this from '88 when the car was brought to the USA up until his death in 2005, only had 29k miles on it. The car was apparently federalized as it had the new VIN tag in the door, but it came with no paperwork at all. I made some inquiries about getting papers..etc for it and it was turning into a real headache. My father and i were going to split the cost as sort of a father / son project car...the check was written out but we ended up passing due to the possible federalization issues and the fact the car sat for so long.. could have easily turned into a money pit.
But $90k, heck i could probably find two pristine 930's for that kind of money..

Is it a bit odd that it's on Craigslist? Anyone seen it listed anywhere else? If it's so "money" of a car, why isn't it being consigned through Sloan, BJ, etc? Or at least through Pano classifieds.
I'm sure those seals will have loved sitting for so long, as well as the A/C.

I don`t know about the rest of you guys but I like that number as the selling price. Gray market cars are a whole separate topic. Remember the Amerispec discussion on this board?? Crazy paperwork etc. But, the museum reference is appropriate if you want to develop a chronological path of development in the Marque and in Turbocharging.

90k then all the damage from sitting so long = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. I dont even think a museum would at that price... Its still a great car and all I mean it is a P930.
