Default Rear sway bar mount mod

Going with Smart Racing adjustable sway bars and just realized that the 930 (unlike NA 911s) has the rear fuel pump in the way of modifying the left side rear sway bar mount. I've always replaced the factory sway bar mounts that are prone to failure with heavier duty racing quality mounts but never had to contend with a fuel pump being in the way.

I'd like to know what others have done to work around this...

Thanks in advance - as always!!

PDQ,

I replaced/strengthened the passenger side only. Didn't want to use a welder and cut off wheel near gas.

So far, no problems after many happy, fast track sessions.

I may do the driver's side over winter, when I can remove the pump and upgrade the lines.

Good luck!

I broke my ride side and replaced it with a WEVO unit. I bought two, but with the fuel pump and no problem on that side I figured I'd wait until there was before I went at it.

pdq, I'll take some pics of my driver side mod tomorrow. I made up my own butterfly reinforcements. On the left side I fabbed a small plate to fill in the space between the mount and the fuel pump shield which is extremely stout for this application.

Thanks gentlemen for the replies.

Glenn - What "upgrade" would this be for the fuel lines? Are you thinking of Aeroquip hose lines?

A930Rocket - I'm getting the Wevo mounts too, but how's it work with only one side done? Doesn't it bring the bar down a little bit below the stock mounting point, or am I mistaken on this?

Mike - I'll appreciate the photos.
