Default EFI question on ECU and CDI trigger from stock harness?

I'm still trying to figure out where to get an "on" signal from the ignition for the ECU and CDI.

I could run wires straight from the ignition switch to a relay for the ECU and straight to the CDI, but I'd rather pull it off the harness. Preferably under the dash (I guess the ignition switch is the obvious choice) for the ECU and from the engine compartment for the CDI. The wiring harness is a little vague on the ignition switch, so I'm wondering which wire has power in the run and start position.

Anyone have suggestions? Thanks.

I always check with a test light. Wiring schematics make my head spin...

Red/white wires are typically +12v when the ignition is on. Make sure it does not drop out when cranking.
