No worries mate. I'll get some more of the mid-engine, and some of the earlier 26 car and it "team mate" the 25 car owned and driven by Angelo Cilli.
Cheers

Okay, as promised some more shots. The 26 "wedge" car was AJR's first entry into IMSA. He built most of it himself in his home's garage. It had a couple of good finishes in races. As you can tell the rules were pretty open back then. It didn't take much to call it a "Porsche." Then the next three are a better shot of the mid-engine "good and plenty" car as we nicknamed it because of those lozenge things on it. Then there's the next gen 911 when we rebodied the wedge and put a shilloutte Porsce body on it and updated a lot of other stuff. Finally, the red 24 car which was Angello Cilli's. As you can see we did a lot toget the 3.8RS wing up in the air. We had the "aero" rockers on the newer cars and the updated Porsche front valences as well. Enjoy, I got a zillion old photos from all kinds of sources and races I collected over the years as we ran. I left about the time Alex became a "factory" team. I still see them at the races and say hi. They even asked me to come back this year because of splitting resources between ALMS and Grand Am. But I'm way to old and out of shape to do this anymore.

Nice! Is that the RS 3.8 wing element - but raised with the extensions?

Yep, it sure is. I'll try and scan and post the one with it in the "stock" position which is how it started out. Man, looking at this "sophisticated" sports car racing stuff I ran compared to what they run today are like night and day. Kind of like our 930s vs 996/997 TTs. I used to think they looked so cool, now they look..."old!" I guess you could run the water cooled Cayman or Boxster engine in the mid engine chassis. Or just build up a car out of one of those. But for the 911 why would you do that? I'd think you'd just replumb a competiton 996/997 NA Flat six and put it in there. They're all water cooled today. I'd like to see Porsche "super-size" the RS Spyder P2 car and go back to running for overall at Sebring and Daytona and give Audi some competition. But, I guess the accountants are running the company now and, its only a priority to race if they're building and selling customer cars. They don't want to spend the money to go it alone anymore. Too bad.

Hey gojoe,
What did you use for signal lights on your front bumper? I just got the 935 bumper and started to research what to use for lights/signals.

Thanks

This is exactly the stuff I was looking for - thanks! This is what makes sense for our cars - perfect.
If you happen upon a side and rear view, can you post those?

Okay here's another set. The various cars at various years. Notice though, the 26 car with the mainplane in about the stock position. Then its up on the extensions. The mid engine car in the fog at Daytona, notice the ride height in comparison to the 911 behind it. Finally, just for my own edification and enjoyment our team pic after the 24 Hours of Daytona. Now you can see just how many people it takes to run two cars in that race. Just in case your interested, I'm the suave and debonair fellow you can barely see in the right center of the photo wearing the cool RayBans. Enjoy 'em guys.

#24 tail setup REALLLLY makes sense from a cost, fab, and performance perspective.
I'll fab up one for my car some month.

Much thanks!

Yep, that's me. It was a much younger, slimmer me, but its me..;-) By the way, notice the splitters in the team pic photo? That's what running a 24 hour race does to a car, or did. The noses are sandblasted, and the splitters are broken from impacting a curb, debris on the track (back then Daytona had no lights, other than what's on the car), and probably a little agricultural racing, usally in the chicane. One of my jobs on the team was grinding all of that stuff and making it like new again. I'd itch for three days after we got back and started tearing everything down and rebuilding it.

I know what you mean, younger and slimmer, hehe.

Looks like they really took a pounding. Hope you wore a mask...
