Spraying intercooler with water like new cars
I've noticed the new WRX STi and EVO have water spray mechanisms to cool their intercoolers. Has anyone seen a kit worth trying for this purpose?

I talked to some one here who races a 930 locally about that and he said what works even better is methanol injected directly into the intercooler on the air inlet. cols the intake charge just as it enters the intercooler.

9ff use one on their 996tt.
Oh, it sprays into the intake, not on the outside of the IC.
This reduces cylinder head temps alot which is good news.

I set my Motec up to control a "mister" for my intercooler. At 1 bar it would activate . I set it up to pump water out of my cool suit cooler.. these are the 4 black lines you see on top of my intercooler... can't rememebr the temp drop but it did work.

Thats correct it's supposed to work pretty well. and more efficient than spraying outside the intercooler because there is direct contact with the injection air,
