Help with 930 identification
My good friend drives a factory slantnose targa 89 930. Now it does'nt say in his registration if it's a 930 or 930S, just says 911 turbo like mine. We're trying to find out if his car is the 930S wich came with the upgraded SC cams so he would not have to spend more money on upgrading cams.

You'll need to get the option codes off of the sticker on the underside of the trunklid to make sure it's a factory 506 code car. The VIN is for a ROW car, so there is a chance that it's a 506 code 930s.

What kellcats521 said. If it's an optioned 505 or 506, it most likely has the standard 930 cams for the 300bhp engine.
You can get a Certificate of Authanticity from Porsche North America for the 505, 506 optioned cars starting in the Model Year 1987. It will tell you if it's factory or not.
