Whats this part?
Hi guys,
Pardon my ignorance but what is this part that the blue hose is going into? I already do have a billet blow of valve behind th intercooler. So what part is this and what is it's function? Today I saw the blue hose had fallen out of it so I put it back into this part. However even with the blue hose fallen out of it, the car still drove perfectly fine and held it's boost pretty well. Will it do any harm with it disconnected?

Rob,
Yes the K is for the Kokeln. So what is the function of the bypass valve and what happens if I drive it disconnected like it was earlier today? Did'nt feel any difference in throttle response whatsoever.

Sameer, my reply is called bad humor! It is a reply that someone gives when they do not know what in the hell they are talking about. SO, they make something up like, doohickey, or thingamabob. Gizmo is also another term for not knowing what to call the item. I hope this helps to understand my lame attempt at humor!

That is a part of the air injection system. I recently removed mine while upgrading a few other parts. My car has run exactly the same without the air injection system as with it (and my car is now a few pound lighter).

Luftwafe is sorta right.
It has to do with emissions and the warm up system, but it is not directly related to the air injection system.
You can remove it and all the associated hardware, plumbing, etc, but you might find it a little harder to start in colder weather. I think Slownrusty just removed all of his as well. Mine is completely removed.

Sammer- Yes that is the air injection system...I just removed it off my car and I am going to drive to SoFast's house put a pretty ribbon around the parts and say "Happy Birthday"
Here is all my air injection just removed a couple of days ago, the part in question you are asking about is the silver canister / BOV looking thing.
