Default Ruf 930BTR

Does anyone know of a Ruf 930BTR that has been registered in California. I'm wondering if it will pass emissions. This is NOT for a conversion, but a Ruf serial #'d car.

Also, anyone have any idea of how many 930BTR's Ruf made?

Thanks

You could also try www.weissach.com and write to Asgar

Ruf Germany sometimes takes 1-2 days to reply.

I had the same question before I bought my 86 BTR. I sent the VIN to RUF and they confirmed the authenticity of the car. The people at RUF told me that most of the info regarding cars made during the late 80's was lost during a flood. You can e-mail or call them and they will confirm this info. At the time my car was sold in 1987, Exclusive Motorcars was the exclusive RUF dealer in The USA. You can also called Garry Bohrman at EM and he might know more. I might be wrong about the year, but I believe RUF became a manufacturer of automobiles in 1984, and a few number of RUF cars were officialy imported to the USA by the RUF dealer with all the DOT specs just like regular Porsches. My car has a VIN sticker that looks like the Porsche one with all the "this vehicle conforms ...." but it has RUF Automobile instead and the vin# terminates with RXXXXX. Some BTRs were brought to the US by importers also. If it's a stock BTR it will pass emissions here on the east coast and also in California
I hope it helps.
Leo
