Default Things to look for when buying

I have friend who is selling a low mileage Turbo. I don't have a specific year, but he says it's either 1985/86. It's a single owner and it has 8k original miles. I have no idea what these cars need, but I'm wondering if I should bring it to someone to get it checked out. I currently own a a 2009 Cayman and have never owned cars this old before. I've always loved these and he knew I was interested. Is there a list of things I have to check out to see how much work is required to sort it?

Thanks

Take it to a reputable Porsche shop ( not a dealer), and have a complete ppi done. Most important would be compression and leak down numbers. Sitting this long with such low milage I wouldn’t be surprised if it didn't need a complete engine reseal. Flush all fluids, new tires, etc.

Thanks. They're going to get an assessment and luckily I have some great shops up in MA able to do a PPI.
