1985 930 Turbo 3.3 L Value
 

I'm a life-long Porsche fan having owned three 914s when I was much younger. I've recently returned to this passion by purchasing a '94 964 Turbo. Because it is such a spectacular car, I purchased it with minimal research. I'm now looking at a babied 1985 930 Turbo with approximately 50,000 miles, and I'm taking this purchase more slowly. I've provided what I know about the car and would truly welcome feedback on its value and input on what more I should know before buying it. I've read that imported, even legally and properly documented, means a lower value. Is this correct?

Imported legally with all documentation in 1985
All records and fastidious maintenance records kept
Guards Red exterior (original and in perfect shape)
No accidents
Black leather interior (leather seats recently restored and customized for taller/wider driver)
The car runs and drives beautifully but will be checked by a qualified Porsche mechanic

1994 964 Turbo 3.6 L (Arctic White/Cashmere)

Arctic white wasn't a standard color for the 94 but Grand Prix white was. Was it PTS? I looked at a white turbo over cashmere in NYC a number of years back the owner claimed it was arctic white but it was a complete respray with bad accident damage. I hope it wasn't the same car. What is the L for? LHD

Thanks for the correction. A mechanic described it as Artic White, but further research of the paint code P5P5 does, in fact, show that is is Grand Prix White. Thankfully, the 964 isn't from NY. In fact, it's a one-owner from Florida. 3.6 Liter. Again, I appreciate your insight. Any hints on the 85 930 Turbo would be equally welcome.

Probably worth in $80s if everything checks out. Maybe a little more if it's in exceptional original condition. The 930's can get quite expensive to repair so make sure the engine is healthy. If previous owners weren't good about items such as proper warm-up and cool-down procedures, that can be pretty rough on the motor and turbo. This is why I believe you see allot of rebuilds on lower mileage examples. Any good quality PPI should pull up the major things. Best of luck.
