Short shift kit
Can anyone direct me to a supplier for short shift kit for a 1987 930. All the ones that I have found are for earlier year models.
Thanks

The earlier ones fit, you will just need to use an aftermarket shift **** like MOMO, etc...
I've had the Weltmeister brand for years in my '87. I believe it also has a shorter throw than the factory part.

Rocket - Thanks! I've wanted to ask someone with one of these a question. Is there any loss of feel or anything else that you regret with the change in shifter? I assume you like it since you have had it so long, but I have heard there is somestimes a loss of feel as well as an added chance of damage to the transmission. I don't quite understand that but I wanted to ask someone who had one.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I like the feel. It seemed to tighten up the shift linkage and make all shifts much better. The factory shifter seemed like it was a mile long in comparison.
While you're in there, replace your bushings.
The reason they say it's hard on your tranny is because it basically changes the fulcrum point on the shifter and applies a little more pressure on your shift linkage all the way down to the tranny. At least that's my understanding.
