MSD Setup on Porsche 930
#3
had one on mine for almost 9 years. Took it off in prep for EFI. great alternative to the $$$ Bosch CDI. Didn't cut any wires, was able to use spade connectors and attach directly to the factory harness. Also did not need a tacho adapter, but have heard some who did. I mounted mine inside (rear seta area, as I don't have any - just a roll bar and harnesses). I figured the cooler temps in the cabin might add longevity... Wiring diagrams are available on the forums (this one or pelican, can't remember)

Just your basic non-programable MSD and coil worked very well for me at the time. Now, still running the stock CDI, only 'cause that's what came with the car and I haven't changed back to MSD.
I used it in conjunction with the MSD boost timing retard module. I think all that's built in with the newer programable versions. Nice hot spark, no issues.
