It's a done deal 82SC pics.....
Finally,
I got my SC and it ships from Seattle tomorrow. 10+ days till it gets here, I can hardly wait. It is a 82 with 87k mi. new clutch, lightened flywheel, new syncros and rebuilt trans, it has some history as well. The PO has the papers that it was origanally ordered by Fred Couples (pro golfer) and was also featured in a magazine article. I'll scan the mag when it get's here and post that. There may be some othe interesting stuff, but I need to verify it first.
Here are the pics as promised.
No thats not me ,it's the PO
Thank You for all your help.
Tim

Congratulations. I took delivery of mine today.
It's now time to hunt out the old sleeping bag, time for bed. Only joking. I won't really be sleeping in it!
Out of interest, what are those headlamp trims? They look different to mine. Are they bigger? They appear to cover more of the headlamp glass. Look nice.

Great car! Take a look on the driver's front door jamb. If the color code is "474", your car is Rosewood (I guess Porsche also called it Palisander). I have an 81 911SC that is Rosewood Metallic. It's a rare color that will either grow on you or drive you crazy. Good Luck!

Mark sP ... you might have the euro H4 conversions on yours.
Attached picture shows the difference. The silver SC has the euro H4 conversion; red SC has the OE headlights & trim rings. H4 conversion is also available with chrome trim rings.

Aha! Being in the UK, I do have Euro H4 lamps., as per the silver one in your pic. The US spec trim looks really nice though IMO. I like the way that the trim 'extends' the line of the wing at the top edge.

Tim,
Congratulations! I've had my SC for about two years now, and I drive it daily-almost 40k miles. Some say I live in it, although it's tucked away in the garage just now, because I've finally tired of keeping up with cleaning and waxing in the wet. I'm in N. California and have driven to Oregon and LA a couple of times. She's a joy on the open road and screaming wonder in the twisties!
Man, you are gonna be so happy.
Best, Terry

Tim, Rosewwod is a beautiful color when clean and waxed. It has a deep richness to it. It is a regular old brown when dirty. You will see what I mean when it is pretty dirty and then you wash and wax it.
