New user needing help with cooling fans
Hello everyone,
The short version is that I own a 2012 911 997.2 GTS Cabriolet and the cooling fans do not turn on. I purchased the $30 CD with the 911/977 Workshop Manuals & Supplemental Manuals but cannot find any information here about testing or troubleshooting the fans. Secondly, searching this forum and online has produced nothing usable so far. Is there anyone who can help me with this?
Now, this car was purchased as a salvage vehicle and a friend of mine who rebuilds salvages was helping for a good portion of the project but is now unable to help since he is busy with other work. Initial damage included right front fender, drivers airbag deployment, & seatbelt deployment. Most everything has been fixed and the car is a great 20 footer so far.
I'm sure there's additional information you probably need to know and please ask for whatever. I am completely new to Porsche and this car seems like a totally different beast.
I also have an electrical leak somewhere but I think that problem is for another post.
Thank you for any help you can provide. It's greatly appreciated.
Richard

You need to get a 12V multimeter, and possibly a code reader.
Look up "Burner's Cars" on Youtube. He did a tutorial video about replacing a radiator fan. It's a Boxster I think, but same basic principals.

^^^Listen to Russ. He's got the two extra radiators in his Cayman. He thinks it's a GT3 or something.
