1986 930 oil pressure light

Default 1986 930 oil pressure light

got my first turbo and oil pressure light goes on at low idle -800 rpm oil level good- is that normal -should I raise the idle to 1000 at which point the light goes out?

there is a turbo specific forum that can add more details. But I would say your sensor is flaky,The dummy light sensor is independent of the gage sensor .. I don't think you even want to know where the dummy light sensor is.
I would double check what viscosity oil you are running also . 20w50 is what most of us run , not sure what the turbo uses.

Also 800 seems very low , I run mine at 950.

Not sure about the Turbos, but the NA cars do sometimes have that low oil pressure light flickering at idle.

I was just in another discussion about adding the oil restrictors at the cam lines to increase oil pressure (http://porsche.wikidot.com/how-to:re...l-line-adaptor).

Ask the Turbo guys if that is recommended for your engine as well.
