Default windshield wipers

yes, I've searched the forum and there any many posts re: windshield wipers and even a few about "parking" them on the passenger side, I would like to do this to my '87 Carrera, I've seen this mod is in Porsche 101 projects, before I proceed: any suggestions, recommendations or caveats? Thanks.

I think you have to bend a wiper arm the opposite way I think. I was gonna do it but didn't have a spare. If you do this I'd love to know how it turned out. At 5'7" the wipers do get in my field of view.

I have the book with the article. Just never found anyone that actually did it.

I did it on my 993 and my 78 SC. Left it be on the 993 as it was a major knuckle scraper and worked fine. Didn't care for it on the SC and reverted back to stock.

Iceman,

I am the same height and my seat bottom is compressed so visibility was not optimum. I installed these seat elevation rails and the difference was night and day so to speak. http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...ion=pel-sa9000

So like elevator shoes for your seats ? People would think I'm 6 ft till I got out of my car ?

I even had to put a ss kit in. I needed the seat so far up the shifter would hit the seat going to second 😩

I bent the wiper arm, used a bigger blade and eliminated the passenger side wiper. This is the best pic I have handy:

thanks guys I will let you know if I get it done, I'm 5'7", recently lowered the car to Euro ride height and the current wiper location became more apparent to me. I recommend Euro ride height.

How does lowering the car effect the relative eye level to wiper level? .....or does your car now drag **** like mine?

I did not do this project, a very good Porsche mechanic did the work and the torsion bars were re-indexed, for me it was like getting a new car (along with the Dansk Sport muffler: one in one out)

an excellent question, I've pondered this for days now, my provisional answer:
lowering the car did not effect the relative eye level to the wiper level, but I noticed that the view beyond the wipers has changed, more road, less frunk thus the wipers appear more prominent to me and may be candidates for moving their parking place or is it only my imagination? My car hauls **** like I think yours does!

I did always have my stock seats adjusted all the way up. I think they have 6 way adjustment. My Sparco seats are side-mounted and set as low as I could get them. Same exact driving position as before. I think I'm 5'9" and don't notice the wipers.....or the amber lamps.
