Default Best color for a 72 hot rod wide body monster?

Have a 72 project 911 with a 3.8, steel flares and a 6 speed box.
Now the hard part...I am usually a black on black or slate gray type of guy. However I am thinking 72 special order and 73rs controversial color "chartreuse " Just seems right on the car.....thoughts????

I like Aubergine too but have alredy speent two years developing a custom set of gauges with NOHO with Chartreuse hash marks. I figured I could go white or silver and still use the gauges. Reality is I had it painted Charturuse but I have switched builders and we want to restrip the shell and start over so my only limiting factor is the gauges. Below is my orignal color concept which I photoshopped a white singer car just to test the color scheme. Also the car in color which will get stripped soon.

Well, you know color is such a personal thing... now is this different or the same one I've seen a few inprogress pics? Because I kinda like the color it was.

For me, something a little more subtle than the neon colors, I do like aubergine, the classic silvers always look great, Albert blue... Acid blue (74 IROC color) or for something really subtle but could be awesome with a matched interior.... Sahara beige.

First thought was Aubergine. Leaf green would also be killer, and rarely done.

+1 on Maritime Blue

Aubergine with Chartreuse stripes if gauge color is that important

or if you don't like that use Charturuse stripes...

Acid blue, signal yellow, tangerine and leaf green are at the top of my list. I went for Tangerine because it was the original color of my car. For a hot rod, go bright!

My first thought was purple, like Trakcar's gt3. Hate Aubergine, and I did own one.

I did tangerine on my ST and getting a little tired of it now. If I had to redo; maybe Bali Blue?

Sorry just read that whole post again. Why not keep it chartreuse. I like it!
