I am about to purchase a 2013 Carrera. It is 1500 miles from my residence. One friend says ship iti home because the road noise will make you deaf and the ride will make you stiff. Another says drive it home, the car is very comfortable. Input??

You should post on the appropriate water-cooled forum. We are air-cooled (1989 and earlier), although quite a few also have a water-cooled.

That said, I can't imagine that a stock Carrera would be nothing less than a joy on a long road trip. If your friend thinks the ride and road noise would be intolerable, then I think he probably has a low threshold. If someone can't drive a car like this 1500 miles, then they are not right for this car.

Assuming the car is reasonably close to stock it will very pleasant to drive. Now if it has been track prepped.....

No problem, happens pretty frequently. The water-cooled forums are the place to go. They actually have a lot more participants than we do here.
