Repop Fuchs: Which ones for an 89 930?
The Fuchs for our 930 are in bad need of refinishing. The have been in some of those tire-tote bags in a garage in Florida for almost 10 years, and before that time, I was using them as my track wheels (this was of course before 930 and 911 values exploded). They still have a set of badly corded khumos on there. I somehow managed to never bend or seriously damage any of the four.
I will eventually get them refinished, but given their value (it seems), was thinking to buy a set of repop fuchs like the Maxilites Doug (Amber Gramps) turned me onto. I can always get some of my money back out of them anyways, if they are high enough quality.
If I can find the right ones, then I can have them dropped shipped along with tires from tire rack, and then parents can schedule a time to have everything put together in Florida.
Any thoughts?

Lots, of options depending on Budget. Maxilites, Euromeister, Fikse, Lindsey, Braid. I went with Euromeisters for $800 for all 4 in 930 fitment. I am satisfied for the price.-Paul

The rear 16x9's are the ones in demand. Lots of front 16x7's to be had. Recent selling prices for rears in great condition http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...za-re-11s.html

I was at Heshey and it was nuts
some guy wanted 2200 for 4 7s ( not saying they were getting it )
one guy had two 8s for 2500
I dont think I even saw any 9s
just to put things in perspective I payed 450 bucks for 4 7s about 5 years ago.
I bought 2 930 spacers for 30 bucks and a bag of extended studs for 10 . This is to push the back 7s out by about an inch to give the appearance of 8s. An economical compromise I can live with.

Spoke to Pops and Mom tonight and said I would try and get the wheels purchased for drop shipment this weekend. I am now seeing there are some larger diameter sizes that are slightly different than the original ones. Maybe I should get some 17s or 18s?

So I guess you didn't get the Maxilites when we talked about them???

They have a US distributor based in Florida that sells what you are looking for at something like $240/ on ebay
Do it already.

I bought these when they were the last new in the box Fuchs in the U.S. back around 2005 or so. I paid around $880 each to Wheel Enhancement, who had them sitting on a shelf. I don't care what happens in the tire market. From my cold, dead hands.
