So I want to put a new clutch cable in my '85 Carrera. I've been looking through all the old threads and it seems that an OEM cable is the recommended way to go, is that still the thinking or is there an good alternative at a lower price ?
I'll also be doing a pedal cluster rebuild at the same time I replace the cable, any other "while you're in there" things I should do ?

Buying replacement parts on the basis of price is the 'Road to Perdition'.
