Default WTB: SC or 3.2 / Just sold my 964

Hey there guys I just sold my 964 and want to get into a SC or 3.2 coupe. Hotrods / outlaws / DE cars are ok. Not looking for a mint garage queen but a very nice driver / canyon carver that won't need a rebuild in 10k miles. Unique colors a plus. No guards red. please email me at 90 carrera @ g m a i l . com or PM me.

Thank you

Ed

Good luck. I believe I saw a non-sunroof SC on Pelican a week or so ago. Don't see those often!

Just curious..

Why did you decide to go from a 964 to an SC or 3.2? I currently own a 3.2 and would think a 964 would be an upgrade. Can you share what you know that I'm missing?

I buy my cars to drive them. My 964 was getting to the tipping point of it increasing so much in value that I did not feel good about piling on miles. And to me that is a shame and a waste of a good sports car. I was becoming "those" Porsche owners and I that I wish to avoid. Cant wait to get back in a car that I can take to a autocross, weekend canyon runs, etc.

A 3.2 / carrera is in the same boat as the 964. Very clean low mile examples of both are about the same price these days.

Anyway, I buy clean cars with miles on them so I don't worry so much about driving them and modding them.

Personally I think you need both cars, the G body cars "FEEL" old (and awesome) and are pretty slow compared to the 964, which feels substantially more modern and much, much quicker. Such different driving experiences.

Good luck with the hunt.

I agree with the values going up, that's why I am looking for a drivers car with good maintenance and higher miles. Definitely don't need a concours queen. I drove a 83 sc back in the early 90s while not any faster than my vr6 corrado I loved the way it drove. I wish I were in a position to own both a g body and a 964.

Does it need to be a coupe? I've got a very fun '88 G50 3.6 Varioram cabriolet hotrod that I'll be putting on the market in the near future. It's dialed in and ready to drive for a long time. We also happen to be fairly close to each other...

Available with Ruf wheels or Zuffenhaus Fuchs:

Marine blue interior/top with sport seats:

Add a D.Moris hardtop and have the best of both worlds!

Man that would be very tempting. If it was a coupe in that color combo we would be negotiating right now.

Good luck with the search. Looking forward to seeing what you do with an older car.
