Anybody use SC cam profile in 2,7 engine?
Hi guys, I'm in the middle of a complete rebuild on my 2.7 motor. I would like to grind my cams to an SC profile. Has anybody done this on there 2.7?
My engine 1975 2.7L
CIS
SSI's
Dansk 2 in 1 out
RS (euro) 8.6:1 pistons
11 blade fan
carrera tensioners
case updates

Hello Doug, thanks for the reply. What other mods did you make. Are you still at 8.5:1 and CIS. Did you have to change your 2.7 fuel distributor or the size of your intakes. Who did your cam grind? I have to make my decission this week and I'm trying to research as much as possible. My wrench is against any cam grinds for the 2.7, say's it hasn't been succesful in the past on 2.7 in his shop. I think he is refering to 964 grinds and more agressive.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Eric,
I am running stock pistons, stock fuel distributor, stock intakes. Web Cam did the grind. No problems in several years. Engine idles fine. I went to SSIs, twin plug ignition and a lightened flywheel at the same time. I was having igniton trouble before the work, so the biggest difference was that it finally ran without sputtering

Hi Doug,
Sounds like you have a real nice setup.
Did you replace all your rocker arms, or have them reserficed when you ground the cams. I spoke with WEBCAM last week. They are double the price of everyone else. Why did you choose them?

Hi Eric, seems to me there are two price levels for cam grinds, one pricey, the other cheap. You just have to make sure the cams are hardened properly. I didn't want to cut corners in this regard, and I just went with word-of-mouth.
I also sent in my rockers to be polished, but I'm not sure this was necessary. The rockers had already been rebushed, and looked fine.
