New exhaust needed for 3.2
Share your thoughts ladies and gents, I'm in the market for a new exhaust for my 88 911. I currently have a Bursch 2-out glasspack exhaust that has been on the car for the last 17 years, way past its shelf-life. The mounting brackets have rusted off and the rest of it is not in much better shape (its held onto the car by 2 metal muffler straps it seems.
1) Get a new Bursch (sounds good now and it is priced below $400) But I don't like how both point out diagonally from the car.
2) Go M&K (I heard a 2 out on an 82 3.0 and it sounded heavenly. I have not heard it on a 3.2 yet)
3) Go Dansk, I like the stainless steel look but I've only heard YouTube videos. Most sound good. About $100 more than M&K.

The dual outlet M&K sounded great on my 3.0.

My buddy recently installed a Fabspeed Maxflo muffler on his 85 3.2 Carrera. Sounds really good compared to the stock.

What I have in my signature from Fabspeed, is a great sounding system!

Everyone talked about how good but the question is actually "how it sounds". Some sound very American V8 to my ears - I like them to sound porsche flat six that has been liberated from factory stock but not V8'd

I use to have Fabspeed Supercups 1 in 1 out. Loved the sound (V8ish). After 2 years, I opted for a more aircooled sounding exhaust so I sold it and swtiched to M&K GT3 1 in 2 out and I am happy with it. To sum it up, it would depend basically on your preference (eg loud but does not sound aircooled, not so loud close to the aircooled sound or stock exhaust).

Here's the sound of a Fabspeed Supercup from the Cat back. I have to take care of the valve guides before I go to the Cat-bypass.

Bisimoto pulse chamber exhaust. Our very own Amber Lamps will agree with this
