Three Wheelin'
We think in the same way. Try finding 315s in anything smaller than 17". Indeed, I was dismayed to see only one for 17s when I looked on Tire Rack.
For what it's worth, 255/40-17 is 2.5% larger in diameter than stock as well as 315/30-17 and 245/45-17. I've read that within 3% is fine, so if it opens up tire purchasing options, I'll have to take a look for my next set...

I think a lot of the Mustang guys run the 315/35-17, so it's not too hard to find them. I bought my set from tire-easy.com. I was pleased with their prices and shipping.

Thanks!
Yes, these are the same guys that make wheels for Singer. My order was behind 17 sets that were going to Singer, so I think that's why it was delayed some. Here's a link to their site: https://www.zuffenhaus.us/cgi-bin/co...ion&key=ST-613
