Default 1977 911 S Battery Replacement

I need to replace my battery and I have received a recommendation to install an Optima red top. However, as best I can tell I need a group size 41 battery and cannot locate an Optima in that size. Does anyone have any recommendations for a battery to install. Thank you.

Not trying to turn this into a battery debate but Odyssey can't be beaten in my applications.

Do the research and go with what will work best for you.

Those big batteries are not needed. As long as you have the required or close to the required cranking amps, it will work fine. I put a Red Top in my 88 Carrera. All you need is make or buy an adapter to bolt the Red Top on to. It slides into the space where a shorter battery fits. I believe mine is a 800 CCA battery.

Default Left post or right?

I have a 1977 911S
It seems the recommended batteries all are right post (pos) terminal.
That puts the pos post back under the fender.
The downside is my negative ground is not very long.
I would have to add to it to reach the other side of the batter if a left post.

Does anyone use a left post (pos) terminal?
I think my battery before this one was left post, but that was 9 years ago. This one finally died.

Any suggestions for a battery?

Also, besides Group 41, what other groups has anyone used?
