Default 1974-1977 us spec 911's

I found a fairley clean 1976 911s with 118,000 miles with a engine rebuild it is a targa and is priced at 17k. I am aware of the issues with the smog equipment shortening the lives of the engines. I do live in ca, are these as bad as the stories i have heard?

Strict oil temp control is the key to a reliable & long-lasting 2.7 engine.

If you install a front oil cooler on that car, you'll not have any engine issues. Porsche would have headed off all the 2.7 issues if that cooler was standard, instead of an option.
