Default Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) for Classic 911s

Hello,

Anyone have a good line on an after-market TPMS for our pre '89 911s? I'm looking for a system that has a simple display with full-time display of all four wheels.

Thanks,

Gene

Maybe you could get one off of a 959, this was the first car to have TPMS.

Probably not available as current systems are tied into the ABS system and work by monitoring and comparing wheel revolutions. Tried a tire gauge? They work great!

I was kidding…tire gauge is a great ideal.

Tire gauges are great and I have a good one. I'm doing a lot of driving around 130 mph on the Autobahn for long distances and thought having some real time pressure monitoring could be helpful.

Tpms is just one more thing that can go wrong. My BMW was telling me low pressure for a month but a tire gauge told my otherwise. The warning signal finally went away. Less technology is better.

HorstP, that one looks good...thanks! Looks like the sensors replace the valve stem caps. Just wonder how high speed would affect the valves.

Related, I do hope you're running stems that can take that kind of prolonged centrifugal force. Such as metal stems.

To me, regular inspection of tires and monitoring of pressure (with analog gauge) is very helpful. And regular inspection of the whole car.
