Default Fuel distributor problem?

I have an 77 911s and am getting fuel to the distributor, but no fuel is going to the injectors. Could this be another problem other than a bad distributor? What exactly could go wrong in the distributor? Thanks!

How do you know that you're getting fuel to the distributor?
With the system pressurized, you have lifted the sensor plate with your fingers and got no fuel at the injectors?

I did not lift the plate. I had a helper crank the car with injector line cracked open and no fuel was comming out. I also cracked the lines to the distributor and both had fuel. Am I doing the wrong procedure?
