A 911 wedding - thanks to the racer's group
That recient racer's group employment post brought back a memory from the past...
Many years ago, I had(still have actually)an early 911 with a bit of a rough interior. In spite of this, my bride-to-be insisted that we forget the limo and suggested she be driven to the church in my car.
So I spend the weeks before the wedding "tuning" up the car - included, due to lack of funds, reconnecting a broken spark plug wire to the bakeolite boot using that metallic liquid you use to repair rear window defroster wire!
Anyway, Just days before the wedding I realized that the fact that I didn't have interior door panels would be a problem - white dress that cost more than my car and grease don't mix.
I pulled out a copy of Excellence where I remembered seeing the RS style door panels offered by the Racers Group. I called and explained the situation to a very sympathetic guy who himself had just gotten married.
My mind is a blur on the exact details, but they somehow had the parts to me within a day or two and hung out on the phone with me into the evening hours before the wedding to ensure that I got everything fitted properly.
I don't have a "trackable" car and don't expect to ever be buying any of their typical racing stuff in the near future, but I have to say based on this experience, I'll always hold them in the highest regard and wish them all the best in the expansion - and my mother-in-law does too!
