Default Porsche Garage Overhaul - ready for a 911

Hi,
New member here and wanted to introduce myself.
I spent countless hours reviewing the IMS bearing issue and it was the quality of the posts and content provided by members that convinced me this was a forum worth joining.
Clearly this is a great resource and community for owners and fans of the Porsche brand.

I am currently looking for a 911 to keep the Panamera company and am considering several types/options, new and used.

In December last year I overhauled my garage. Some pics below. I really enjoy driving these cars, but I am also hyper fussy and enjoy detailing them just as much.
So if there is anyone in the Atlanta area looking to sell a well cared for 911 please pm me (I do also regularly check the classifieds)

Welcome .. that is a VERY impressive garage ..

However on this forum you wont fingd garages too filled with polishing rags , polishing cloths , car washing mits and colour coordinated towels ...

more like lots of old tools, rusted bits of cars and spare parts found at swap meets , maybe a few old dishrags to stop the bleeding.

This forum is for the much older cars up to 89 and although we do have some real nice cars , most of us are wrenchers and we have very very very few IMS issues ..

it would be really nice to see an older classic in that garage , but i have a feeling you are after something a little newer when you say IMS.

Why not join up and pay the minimal membership so you can create WTB posts ..

Hi Iceman,
Thanks for the reply and suggestion. I did actually sign up using the paid membership option so I will post in the wtb also.
One of the options I've been looking into is an early 80's 911 Targa. But you're right that I won't be doing much of the mechanicals myself, but would be keen on one that needs an interior refurb and has a solid engine that I can have sorted by my mechanic.

That's a gorgeous setup! I'd say you've got a great eye for putting together the look (and colors) of the thing.

If you don't know about the forums at Garage Journal, you should check it out. There are a fair number of garages there that are focused on detailing.

Thanks Jack. I've been a member of Garage Journal for quite a while, and have been an admirer of your garage and extremely popular thread over there too. Nice to know you're a member here also.

Here is a link to my before and after on GJ.

How'd I miss it? In any case, thanks -- and again, the garage looks great!

Hi and welcome. Fantastic looking garage you have there. I really like the colour scheme and the lettering on the wall as well.

Thanks for all the welcomes and comments.
i've included a few pics of the car. I know a lot of people don't like the Panamera, but if you have kids and like to take long road trips, these cars are the ultimate balance of space and performance. I also happen to be in the (possibly smaller) camp that really likes the styling

Gorgeous garage, and gorgeous car. I'm with you on the styling of the Panamera - love it.

Now keep it company with an air cooled classic! Have you driven one?

That is an awesome looking garage! I would definitely need more storage though.

Thanks. I agree, I've been looking at a couple of 83 and 84 Targa models. I love the styling. Just waiting for the right one to come along. My other thought was to buy a new 911 C4S, and get a used Cayenne to replace the Panamera. Decisions, decisions ...

Thanks John. Fortunately I have a decent size workshop downstairs where the tools and other items live. Allows me to keep the garage nice and uncluttered.
