Default 1980 911 SC - Lots of white smoke after start

Hello all. I have a 1980 911 SC that sat for about a year. I went to start it up and more white smoke started coming out of the exhaust than I remember it doing normally.

Thoughts on what it may be? Other posts I found mentioned overfill on oil. I don't think it's overfill as when it was parked last I checked the oil level and it was normal. Since then it's leaked out oil and none was added.

I plan on changing the oil tomorrow. Want to make sure I don't do irreversible damage bring it up to operating temp.

If it helps here is a quick video. It got slightly worse after I stopped recording.

Thanks!

Add me to the list of people with white smoke at startup. Usually stops after a few minutes of driving. I've never really thought twice about it.

I'm another that gets white smoke at startup, but it goes away after warmup. I have noticed it's a little heavier if the car hasn't been driven for awhile and if the weather is a little colder...

Probably nothing wrong with your car, they all do this after sitting for prolonged periods of time. The nature of a flat six motor. Just change the oil as you planned and take it out for a nice jaunt. It will surely clear up.

If it has sat for a year, you may have a sticking ring. New oil and gradual operation until you feel comfortable and then red line it.
