How long can I safely leave car on jack stands?
Okay, probably a dumb question, but right now everything I do to my new-to-me 83 SC seems to make me nervous. How long can I safely leave the jack stands under the torsion bar covers and front a-arm mounts? Just want to leave in the air for a little, while I do some serious cleaning under the engine and a couple of other projects during the next week that require waiting on parts. Thanks.

Sounds like a real dirty job, and know this will take a while. I am thinking I might do the same, just a little bit at a time, so that the whole garage doesn't look like a big mess....keeping it at a manageable level.

Thanks Frank, Ed and Ice. Just been a little crazy paranoid with the new toy. Need to get over the fear of working on it. It's a little rough. The level of grime on the engine is of epic proportions. The grime completely covered the oil cooler lines. Before I started cleaning you couldn't see the oil sender. Needless to say there are a lot of leaks.
There is paint. I thought the inside of the wheel wells were undercoated grey.
The pan of shame.
Actually cleaned the drain plug. Really...
I had dreams of doing all these glamour shots of the car to post...oh well, this is how I introduce the "Sieve". Using some Krud Cutter and White Lightning bicycle chain degreaser.
