We found out that it is actually Carribe Blue (might as well be mexican) It was a color available for just a few years. If dad will ever get on here he can ellaborate.
Thanks to peter and his dad who came over last saturday to help us formulate a battle plan. Stage 1 will be simple:
-oil change
-replacing hoses
-cleaning
-replacing the broken gas cap
-rebuilding the pedal assembly (accelerator floors itself on occasion)
-replacing all shifter bushings (mushy gear box).
I can already feel the Porsche itch creeping under my skin... This could be bad!!

Time has been tough for my father and I, My sister has been moving into her new house and I have had to help my girlfriend move into her new apartment... Keeping women happy leaves little time for Porsche activities
First we addressed the shifter... replaced the bushings hoping that was the cause of the sloppy shifter... No dice... Shifting is still pretty sloppy... Next we went to the pedal assembly and after removing all of the carpet around it there is alot of "Fluid?" Seems like brake fluid around the base of the pedals. This fluid continues through the tunnel underneath the shifter.
I am fairly certain that the transmission is in need of a rebuild. Before that we need to get the tach working. Seems like the motor is idling awfully high.
I would like to get the carpet all taken out so that way the mildew smell can be removed.
right now it the list of things to do is all in our heads and needs to make its way onto paper. Then sorted in order of importance and a budget made. This will be done shortly... Before any major tear downs can be done we need to organize the garage a little bit to provide an organized work environment.. This is at the top of the list!!
I will keep you updated and post some pictures shortly!

your master cylinder is shot .. when it leaks it leaks down on to the pedals.. add that to the list. the plastic bushings in the pedal assm swell from this so you probably need a bronze bushing set.
Did you check the coupler between the two rear seats for the shifting ? there is a panel in the floor between the seats that can be removed. Check that coupler and make sure the bushings havent come apart.

x3 for the coupler and master cylinder. Sounds like you are making some progress while still keeping the women happy
