Hello all, well now that I've owned my 83 SC cab for a few weeks and I'm checking off the list of "must do's" I will be looking at the suspension sometime late fall. The question is, I've noticed that some of you have your cars corner balanced when you have an alignment done. Is this a typical thing to have done to these cars or is it reserved for track cars? My car is a weekend driver that will see the twisty roads of SE Ohio. Also, on a different note. I'm looking at the 29 year old spare and wondering if I should trust it. My initial thought is no and that I should go buy a plug kit and make sure that the compressor that came with the car works. Any thoughts? Warren

Right after I got my '84, about 6 months ago, I test inflated the spare. I hooked up the compressor and stood far, far away as that thing started growing.

All went well, but once I started turning it into a track car, the spare and the jack came out anyway.

You owe it to your car and yourself to have it properly aligned and corner balanced by a competent shop.

I corner balanced my '89 during an alignment and it never sees the track. I've never checked my spare...

Never corner balanced and never inflated my spare .. yet my car seems to perform anyway .. go figure ..
