first oil change
I have a 2011 911 carrea and want to change my oil myself. I crawled under the engine but do not see the drain plug. Also at what point on the chassis do I jack the car up?Where can I get a maintenance manual that covers simple maintenace, not a full shop manual?

First, welcome to Rennlist Bob! Second, I would take this post down to the 997 forum and you will find it if your scroll down a little. My honest opinion is if the car is still under warrarnty I would have the dealer do it. That way if the car ever fails in anyway, the dealer can't say you didn't maintain it. Just my $.02! Post pictures of your car!

Welcome Bob! Listen to Jay. He is a wise man......according to him! I'd take it to the dealer and have a beer or a good cup o, Joe and call it good. Basic things like the jack point should be in the owner's manual. Good luck.

Pshaw. Change that oil yourself. As I understand, you have legal protection for warranty claims when you do routine maintenance yourself so long as you can document that the required maintenance was done.
Can't tell you where the drain plug is on a 997. Maybe there isn't one since they did do away with the dipstick. LOL
Drive up on 2x8's or a couple of 2x8's nailed together at all 4 corners to give you clearance and keep the car level.
