Default Do I need to drain the oil before I change the right oil cam line?

I have a minor weeping right oil cam line that needs replacing. I just drained the oil but have not filled it back yet. I was going to tackle the job but have decided to let my local wrench handle this and a few other odds and ends due to my hectic travel schedule.

I have already removed this line once and the part I received from Pelican was not the same size so the job was a bust during my last oil change since I had to drive it home from a friends. This replacement oil line also looks suspect so I hate to spend all of this time and not be able to finish the job.

My question is can I refill the oil (it was due for an oil change) and just drive it to my wrench to fix without having to drain the oil again? I hate to waste that expensive Brad Penn oil.

If I must drain the oil I will just wait until the next oil change to fix.

Thanks,

Thanks Ed. I just want to make sure I do not create a huge mess.
