Which of these two would you consider and why
1988 Anniversary Edition with 68,000 miles

1987 Turbo look cabriolet with 59,000 miles

The red car will likely need its 60k service done soon as possible. I cannot tell whether the Blue car had its 60,000 mile services performed, How much money am I looking at in service fees. Anything else I need to consider. Which car would you get and why. Thanks for your help.

I'd go with the turbo look because there were less made. You did not say anything about the prices? Also, check the clutch issues with the 87'. They have some clutch piece that fails and I believe was corrected in 88'. Someone here on the board can tell you more. I don't remember the exact part name but I have seen it on my mechanics bench in his shop. Both look like nice cars assuming they have good PPI's. Why have you not added a 993 and 930 to your stable?

I like these 87 and 88 cars alot and want something a little older and in good shape to keep as a project and ride in when it is nice outside. This is morer of a keeper, fixer upper car. A 993 is a little too new for what I am looking for and doesn't have that raw look of these 87 and 88s.
I am ready to go on the red, then everyone talked me into the blue. The red checked out good and the Blue is being inspected in the morning.
The red is sporty, but the blue seems classier. Tough decision for me right now.

I have a 87 Diamond Blue Cab and I get compliments on the color all the time. The "arrest me red" paint job is bright - but to me the classic Porsche is more Silver/Grey... <img src="http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/nw1.jpg" alt=" - " />
I am not a huge fan of the Turbo look. Too much of a poser. Especially on a cab. Get a Turbo to back it up - just don't look like it. JUST my opinion.
Either one are special cars. I think (as well as Bruce Anderson) that the G-50 cars are the ultimate classic Porsche expression.

Yeah...I noticed the fastners looked different. The thing with that car, normally I cant stand black fuchs but somehow it works with the red and turbo look.
It depends on the type of look you are going for...red is a little racier and sporty, blue is a little more classy.
My car is a red 86 Cab...and believe me, you get noticed driving that car around.
How do they both drive?

Doug:
I would definitely choose whatever car YOU want (as long as they are mechanically similar and in good shape). Both are special cars and you can't go wrong with either.
If the red Turbo look is really what you want, then go for that car.
Good luck in your decision (which is a great decision to be able to make!).

I would consider both! However I really like the diamond blue one assuming that it is all ok mechanically. The lighter interior looks great and the car on a whole in my opinion looks classier than the red. I would have the wheels polished like Jeremyw964's wheels. Other things I would consider is what updates to suspension and engine have been done and compare how each drives.
