Picking up the new '78 911 ride!!
Sitting at the airport with my 11 year old heading out to go pick up the new ride!
After arriving late afternoon we will pick up the car take a rest and go for a 7 hour drive home.
Will post pictures etc as soon as we got some!
Wish us luck!

That sounds like a perfect way to start out with your new P-car... A great road trip (and I have to imagine, living in BC, it will be an amazing trip) and your daughter as company.
It will make for some great memories.
I am definitely looking forward to the pictures. Congratulations!
(My son is 10... I think it is a great age for these kind of things!!)

And....where home! First an apology to Sam, as he is my boy as I did not make that clear....
We had a blast! Took a flight from Kelowna BC to Seattle and the previous owner was awaiting us at the airport. The first part of the trip took us from Seattle (5.00 pm, rush hour...) to Bellingham as the border is closed for imports at 4 pm or so.
We left in the AM next day and took the beautiful drive from Bellingham to Kamloops. A total trip of about 500 Km. The car handled great, temperature and oil pressure where perfect. No issues at all!
Provincial inspection is tomorrow, and we are going to run it true summer and get it taken apart this winter as a project. There are some issues we have to take care off that I am aware of, (air conditioning, interior, sunroof) and probably more that I don't know about.....
For any Canadian who is thinking about importing from the US, it's as easy as ABC. Prices and selection is way better than here in Canada especially with our Cad$ at par and better.
This is what we brought home for $ 8500 US:
Let the fun begin!!

seems like an awesome price if the car is well sorted. My 1980 was double that.
Good buy and hope it treats you well. You are in a wonderful part of the world for driving these cars.

Beautiful car...if you don't mind me asking, how many miles are on it? I ask because I have a friend who is going to test drive one tomorrow...it's a 1976 with 92k miles on it and the dealer is asking $13,700...i'm sure it was a trade...thanks and enjoy your new ride

It seems like a bargain, and it is a good price, but we will have to spent probably the same amount to get it how I would like it. It runs great, but there are a lot of things to be done.
For millage, just over 200K.....
ivangene, you might know this car. It has been owned by a PCA board member from the Seattle area who owned it before the guy I bought it from. He is a retired state trooper who upgraded to a 930. Can't remember his name but wrote it down somewhere.
