Another "my mistake is your gain" offer
Well,...I've done this a few times before with great success, so here we go again.
I've a '89 Carrera that uses the KL-21 fuel filter. I don't know how, but when I went to change her filter recently, I found a KL-22 in my stock (WTF?). I'm not one to dick with adapters to make it work and will always prefer to install the proper parts ALWAYS!!!!!!!!! Had my wrench meet me this Sunday and picked up a MANN filter to get this put to bed. SO: I'm offering this misguided fuel filter, FREE OF CHARGE, to the first person who says they want it (and can REALLY use it). PLEASE: no resellers......in fact, should you convince me that you REALLY can "use" it, I'll pay for the shipping, as long as it's within the US. Takers?;) BEST! Doyle |
What a deal! Will it fit an '89 Targa? :D
|
we have fuel filters
I got so much to learn ! |
I'll leave the parts research up to you guys. My understanding (through searching) is that this one is for a Turbo......the fittings are different from my 89 Coupe (NOT a '89 C4),..and several people have transferred over the fittings to make it FIT. It doesn't sound easy to me and I'd not consider doing such (that's just me,..hey: it's FUEL!)
Further research on it suggested it would work fine (with the necc'y fitting changes). The only info I could garner (as to spec differences between a KL-21 and a KL-22) is pressure. Apparently, the KL-22 handles more pressure (someone correct me if I'm wrong on this). I would state that I am not responsible for anybody's error in determining this filters' usage in place of a KL-21. THIS FILTER IS A KL-22, period!!!!!!!! That's all I have for ya', Scott!!!! Best to you, Doyle |
What goes round, comes 'round..................................
|
I think the '93 turbo is a 964? Or they call them 965s? I'll bet someone in that forum would be a happy person to get the filter.
I say good call on not messing with the fittings. That's asking for a leak. |
I think it to be 964's.......
Inanycase,.....this is what makes the 911 air-cooled forum so cool...no way would I post outside my "air-cooled" boundaries......they should come to us, no? Do you think I should post it "over there"? Takes the fun out of it, a bit. Hell,..I'm off for a drive... Best! Doyle |
I might as well jump in here. I have a 930-110-076-00-M14 Fuel Filter, (Bosch 0 450 905 021) 911 (1978-80), 924 Turbo (1978-82) available and I will match Doyle's offer. Free of charge and I will pay the shipping. PM me if interested.

You can always go into Off Topic and offer it there...... There are a few 965 owners but there is no telling what kind of response you will get... :)

OT curls my toes,..and in a painful way........I wouldn't dare place something as gracious and heartfelt into such an abyss..........especially the religious forum......there lurks some real (unread) zealots who I wouldn't give the time of day,..much less a fuel filter.
Doyle . . . 'cause I thought that the 911 forum was THE religious experience. . . Porsche  911:bowdown: 3.2L  G50:bowdown:'88:bowdown:cabrio:bowdown:venezia blau |
