Default Oil Analysis From My '86 Cab

Not too bad! I'm not too concerned about the Silicon reading..the engine doesn't leak, I think the seals are good, and the air filter works fine.

Some folks are confused on what a UOA can and can not determine. A UOA is intended to determine if the oil is still serviceable and if the OCI is correct. A UOA is not capable of determining the lubrication performance of an oil in your engine. To determine the lubrication performance of a given oil in your engine you need to conduct the extensive ACEA or car maker oil test sequence tests that apply to your engine family. A $25 UOA does not and can not provide this information.

Arctic1, Cashmere Beige is an awesome color.

beentherebaby, I know very little about the study of oil and tribology...except when I start up my car it makes cool noises and I go vroom! And there are no spots underneath...someday I may delve deeper. Thanks for the links!

There was one quote in the commentary that confused me "... given your longer than average oil run." Is he referring to your 3900 - 4000 miles between oil changes? If so, when did that become longer than average?

Zinc and Phosphorus should be higher (having to do with the oil you are using - nothing wrong with your engine).
