Default Cabriolet roll bar

Hello!
I'm new to the forum. New to Porsche. I am glad to have this forum to guide me.

I just bought a 1987 Carrera cab with less than 10,000 miles. I am excited to take delivery of the beauty as soon as the Northeast weather breaks and I can get her out west.
I want a roll bar in the car if I can find one that fits without permanent modification. Does anyone have experience with the Heigo products. THey make a bar for the Speedster that I thought looked good.
http://www.heigo.de/ASP/index.asp?PI...3&SCAT=Porsche

Does anyone know of a similar product??

Thanks for the help!

The DAS rollbar is probably one of the better choices for a cab.

It is absolutely improper to make your first post asking a question and not supplying pics of your car!

Welcome.

DAS looks to be the way to go. Nice that you can remove it when/if you want.

I put the DAS in my 87 cab 2 years ago for track purposes, bolts in without any cutting etc. DAS is also accepted by Porsche and other clubs for HPDE events. Adds a little stiffness to the chassis; that's a good thing!!

Thanks for the input guys. DAS sounds like the way to go. Ihave seen pics ofa roll bar made in Germany for a speedster that followed the contour of the seats. I will try to find the pics for your perusal.

Pics of my new baby coming soon.....when it arrives.

I also have a DAS in my 87 Cab. You should be aware that it will limit the rearward travel of the seats. I'm 5'3" so it isn't a problem. If you are tall, it might be an issue.

Congrats on the new car!

I've been using the DAS rollbar for the past 5 years. Fits great - not permanent - and removes easily.

Great for DE/Autocross, etc.

when i still had the cab, i looked at rollbar installations....& i recall the heigo
speedster hoops were addressed on either the 993 or 964 board. so you might search there.
as i recall the issue (key) is absence of any side impact protection.

congrats on the purchase.

Looks good...can you still use stock seat belts with the roll bar?

I use a Heigo bar in my Cayman S track car and it is really good: it fits perfectly with no modifications, it is very well built and instal was pretty straightforward.
I'm quite impressed with it, honestly.
I only have a lousy pic of it but still better than nothing.

Yes, they work fine. Yes, the top goes up and down easily. The DAS is a quality unit - fit great and easily removed (with no evidence of it being there)
