Default 915 LSD Installation

Looking to install guards lsd into my 84 with 915 box. I know there will be more heat generated in th box due to the lsd. Question is should an external be installed to keep temps in lower? I also know that people have switched from Swepco 201 to 210 and this worked fine without a cooler? Lastly, I understand that 80/60 split is the preferred setup for track only?

Good driving,

Greg

What gear box lube are you using? I heard the 210 doesnt generate as much heat as the 210...

I have a Guards unit in my '83 SC and i have tracked it with no heat problems. You need to spend some time looking at the Guard unit before you hide it in the car. It is a class product and is outstanding in the car as well. One of the better improvements I made to the car.

201 is 80w/90 and the 210 is 80w/140. Do I dare to ask what LSD additive?

There are a few available to help out the clutch plates. I saw some on the shelf th other day and may check it out. They are just small bottles.

Good driving,

Greg
915 are stressed by a tracked 3.2 anyway, add an lsd and there is more heat generated, thats why the RoW 3.2 boxes came w/ a cooler standard. I'd add one if I didn't already have one

the usual splits for a track car are 40/60(acc/decel) or 50/80, current RSRs use 40/60
