Nice looking they want 28 and change for the car and I bet you could have a PPI done around the corner at Air Cooled Classics. The top guy at air cooled classics is a fairly frequent poster here and on rennlist he may know the car.
Good call, if you look closely at the engine (bottom left) you'll see an 'Aircooled Classics' sticker on it!!

Question: How can you tell from the VIN number if a car is a real turbo look? Which digit tells you?

Is there a list of these car VIN#s or any reference?

Call the VIN number into 1-800-porsche, option 3..could be 5 and provide them the VIN. They will give you the options that are on the car.

Question on the boxed rockers - seems like these things have been screwed in with about 5 sheet metal screws, what would be the best way to fill the holes?

At least I get to buy a longer phillips head screw driver....
